First record of the banjo catfish Bunocephalus doriae Boulenger 1902 (Siluriformes: Aspredinidae) in the Bermejo River basin, Salta, Argentina
Intense sampling in the upper Bermejo River basin revealed the presence of specimens of the aspredinid genus Bunocephalus. After detailed morphological and morphometric analyses specimens were identified as Bunocephalus doriae. This is the first record of any member of the Aspredinidae in the upper Bermejo River basin.Fil: Aguilera, Gaston. Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones CientÃficas y Técnicas. Correctness Proof of Ben-Or's Randomized Consensus Algorithm
We present a correctness proof for Ben-Or's Randomized Consensus Algorithm for the case in which processes can fail by crashing, and a majority of processes is correct. This is the first time that the proof of Ben-Or's algorithm appears for this case. The proof has been extracted from [AT96]: it is a simplification of the correctness proof of a more complex consensus algorithm that involves both randomization and failure detection
The Impact of RDMA on Agreement
Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) is becoming widely available in data
centers. This technology allows a process to directly read and write the memory
of a remote host, with a mechanism to control access permissions. In this
paper, we study the fundamental power of these capabilities. We consider the
well-known problem of achieving consensus despite failures, and find that RDMA
can improve the inherent trade-off in distributed computing between failure
resilience and performance. Specifically, we show that RDMA allows algorithms
that simultaneously achieve high resilience and high performance, while
traditional algorithms had to choose one or another. With Byzantine failures,
we give an algorithm that only requires processes (where
is the maximum number of faulty processes) and decides in two (network)
delays in common executions. With crash failures, we give an algorithm that
only requires processes and also decides in two delays. Both
algorithms tolerate a minority of memory failures inherent to RDMA, and they
provide safety in asynchronous systems and liveness with standard additional
assumptions.Comment: Full version of PODC'19 paper, strengthened broadcast algorith
Failure Detection and Consensus in the Crash-Recovery Model
We study the problems of failure detection and consensus in asynchronous systems in which processes may crash and recover, and links may lose messages. We first propose new failure detectors that are particularly suitable to the crash-recovery model. We next determine under what conditions stable storage is necessary to solve consensus in this model. Using the new failure detectors, we give two consensus algorithms that match these conditions: one requires stable storage and the other does not. Both algorithms tolerate link failures and are particularly efficient in the runs that are most likely in practice --- those with no failures or failure detector mistakes. In such runs, consensus is achieved within 3d time and with 4n messages, where d is the maximum message delay and n is the number of processes in the system
First record of Astyanax puka Mirande, Aguilera & Azpelicueta, 2007 (Teleostei: Characidae) in Juramento River basin, Salta, Argentina
Astyanax puka was described from the endorheic RÃo Salà basin, Argentina, and it was not previously recorded elsewhere, being considered until now as endemic from that basin. Herein we record for the first time this species in the RÃo Juramento basin, RÃo de La Plata system.Fil: Teran, Guillermo Enrique. Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones CientÃfico y Técnicas. Chinese consumers’ purchase intention of fresh cherries: Modeling of relations between satisfaction and perceived quality
The purpose of this study was to model Chinese consumers’ intention to purchase fresh cherries through direct and indirect relations and mediating role between perceived intrinsic quality, perceived extrinsic quality and satisfaction. The analytical method used was a structural equation modeling (SEM). Surveys were applied to 388 buyers in three traditional markets in Beijing, China. A confirmatory factor analysis was performed, which presented an adequate goodness of fit to accept the model, according to the literature, which confirmed the relations. The results showed, that perceived extrinsic quality and satisfaction are directly and significantly related to Chinese consumers’ intention to purchase fresh cherries. Additionally, an indirect and significant relationship was found between perceived intrinsic quality and purchase intention, through the mediating role of satisfaction.
Highlights:
Only the intrinsic perceived quality in fresh cherries is directly and significantly related to the satisfaction of Chinese consumers, generating indirect effects on the purchase intention through the mediating role of satisfaction, which is opposed to the results obtained in extrinsic perceived quality.
The results obtained in this study determined that the intrinsic perceived quality does not present a direct and significant relationship with the purchase intention in fresh cherries, a result in conflict with that obtained in the extrinsic perceived quality.
It was statistically demonstrated that intrinsic perceived quality has an indirect and significant influence on purchase intention through the mediating role of satisfaction; on the other hand, no indirect and significant influence was found between perceived extrinsic quality and purchase intention as a result of the mediating role of satisfaction.
Satisfaction has a direct and significant relation on the purchase intention of Chinese consumers.
The results of this research seem to be in line with the marketing initiatives developed by ASOEX, enhancing the attributes of intrinsic quality, color and size, and linking it to celebrations and traditions, through activities such as "Super Cherries days", "Chilean Cherries dance" and "Cherries from Chile", activities that have also been enhanced by public policies and agreements such as the free trade agreement between the two countries in force since 2005.The purpose of this study was to model Chinese consumers’ intention to purchase fresh cherries through direct and indirect relations and mediating role between perceived intrinsic quality, perceived extrinsic quality and satisfaction.

Quality of child health care in the family health strategy
OBJECTIVE: to verify the quality of child health care in the Family Health Strategy (FHS) in a state capital of Northeastern Brazil.
METHODS: a descriptive study using a quantitative approach was carried out in 2010 with 66 primary care (PC) teams represented by their doctors and nurses. The survey used part of the Evaluation for Quality Improvement of the Family Health Strategy² (AMQ), a self-rating instrument of the Brazilian Ministry of Health which evaluates the FHS actions and services and classifies them by the following quality-based standards of care: Elementary, undergoing development, Consolidated, Good or Advanced.
RESULTS: 84.1% of the FHS-teams rated themselves as providing "Elementary" actions and services, and 47.7% of them considered that they provided "Advanced" ones. The health teams with less than four years of implementation rated themselves better.
CONCLUSION: these findings suggest that most of the FHC-teams are providing care with an elementary standard of quality, and indicate that better quality child care is apparently delivered with by teams with less time of implementation
